Dr. Heidi Orme, MD, MSPH

Dr. Heidi Orme, MD, MSPH, is a board-certified Neurologist with sub-specialty training in Neuromuscular Disorders. She has worked as a comprehensive Neurologist in the Treasure Valley since 2009.

She obtained an undergraduate degree from the University of Utah in Biology, where she subsequently obtained her Master of Science in Public Health. After graduate school, she attended the University of Utah School of Medicine and earned her medical degree in 2004. She stayed on at the University of Utah, completing her Neurology residency in 2008. Following her residency, she completed additional fellowship training at the University of Michigan in Clinical Neurophysiology with an emphasis in Neuromuscular Disorders.

Dr. Orme actively maintains board certification in Neurology and is also board certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine, in which she scored in the top 10% of the nation for combined written and oral exams. She specializes in the electrodiagnosis and management of neuromuscular diseases, including but not limited to ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), Myasthenia Gravis, CIDP and other immune-mediated neuropathies, Myotonic Dystrophy, and Inclusion Body Myositis. She routinely performs EMG’s in the diagnosis of peripheral nerve entrapment (including Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Ulnar Neuropathy), Brachial Plexopathy, Peripheral Neuropathy, and Cervical and Lumbar Radiculopathy, among others. Within her practice, Dr. Orme runs an ALS clinic and loves providing care for these patients and their families. She also enjoys treating
general neurologic disorders, particularly Multiple Sclerosis.

Dr. Orme performs the following procedures:

• Nerve conduction studies and EMG’s
• Botox injections for hemifacial spasm and migraine
• Skin biopsies for small fiber neuropathy
